PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OLDENZAAL CLOSE GLOBAL DEAL WITH MUNICIPALITY
The 10th of October is Sustainability Day. A good time to sign the Global Deals. In the council chamber, Councillor Evelien Zinkweg will receive representatives, directors and a number of children from primary schools in Oldenzaal. Of course, the students are also allowed to sign personally. Primary schools in Oldenzaal are concluding a "Global Deal" with the municipality today. The Global Deal describes how primary schools can contribute to a green, healthy and sustainable Oldenzaal, among other things with the help of the municipality.
What do the Global Deals entail?
On a small scale we can contribute to this together by, among other things, saving energy, dealing better with waste and learning about nature and the environment in which we live. The youth is the future and that is why the municipality, in collaboration with Twente Milieu, De Höfte and Energy Challenges, is concluding Global Deals with the primary schools in Oldenzaal. The schools can choose to actively separate waste and will receive teaching packages and mini containers from Twente Milieu. They can also choose to use the de Höfte's teaching packages about nature education. As a school, they can also save 10% energy with the Energy challenges project (teaching packages and an energy monitoring system). The aim is to make children aware of the importance of a sustainable society.
