On September 27th 2022, at the Palestinian Ministry of local Government (MoLG) in Al-Bireh, the ministry conducted the signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding with VNG international for the launch of the SDLG program in Palestine which has a total contribution of 1,000,000 EUR distributed over the program's main components. The event was joined by the NRO, the LAs of the targeted cluster in West Ramallah ( Shuqba, Qibya, Der Qadis, Ni'lin, Shabtin, Kharbatha Bani Hareth, Budrus and Al-Midya) and the consultants who gave an overview of the planning methodology and the in-depth assessment which will take place in the targeted eight localities over the upcoming months. The minister of local governance Majdi Asaleh thanked the kingdom of the Netherlands for the continuous support and stressed the importance of joint planning among the LAs. The Deputy Representative of the NRO and head of cooperation Benjamin Anker expressed that this collaboration was special and highlighted the importance of good local governance given the internal and external challenges faced by Palestine. The NRO deputy representative also stressed the importance of cooperation between all partners including MoLG, APLA, the LAs and VNG international.
